INDOOR SOCCER RULES
Laws
of The Game:
All will
apply.
The following are house rules
that will be enforced at the Ralph J. Stolle Countryside YMCA.
Participants:
-
No participant is allowed to be rostered on
more than two teams in the same league.

If a team would like to add a player to their
roster they can do so. This must be done through the field
supervisor prior to the start of any games. That player
will be required to pay the full fee for that session.

Any team caught using a non-rostered/guest
player will be fined $50.
-
Each team must have at least 7 players on
their roster (for adult leagues) when it is turned in no later than the
beginning of the second game.
-
In the event that a team does not have enough
players to legally play the game (for adult leagues, enough to field a team
plus one extra man and one extra woman as substitutes), the team may pick up
enough players to bring them to that minimum. The players that are picked up
MUST be roster of at least one YMCA Adult Soccer team.
Players on the field:
U8-U9 - Seven players plus a goalkeeper. Less than 6 players= Forfeit
U10-U14 -
Six players plus a goalkeeper. Less than 5 players
= Forfeit
U15 and Up- Five players plus a goalkeeper. Less than 4 players = Forfeit
Adult Coed- Six players plus a goal keeper. Less than 5 players = Forfeit
Minimum number of players on
the field is 2 less than the required. If a team does not
start a game with the minimum number it is considered a forfeit.
Players:

Players are not allowed to chew gum, tobacco,
or food or candy at any time on the field.

If a player is injured and play stops, the
injured player must come off the field of play.
Uniforms
and Footwear:
-
All players must have matching shirts or
jerseys. We do not require numbers on them, but everyone
must be wearing the same color. Where teams have the same
color, the Home team must change.

Any type of soccer shoes can be worn on our
surface.
-
Participants wearing a cast must have the
cast properly wrapped and the cast must be approved by the official. These
participants must also present a doctor’s approval to the official and /or
field supervisor.

Players may not bring their own soccer ball.
All soccer balls will be provided by the Countryside YMCA.
Adult Leagues:
· All participants an adult leagues must be 18 years or
older.
· In each age specific league, i.e. Coed 30+ or Coed
25+, each team is allowed to have two players under the required age. Meaning a
team in the Coed 30+ league could have two players that are 25 and 28
respectfully. They must still be above the age of 18.
Goal
Differential:
Based on the YMCA philosophy
of Sports, running up the score on any team can be considered unsportsmanlike
conduct and may result in ejection or suspension of the team’s coach or manager.
Card
Management:
Yellow Card = 2 minute
penalty
2nd Yellow card =
ejection from game
Red card = ejection form that
game and the next scheduled game.
If the opposing team that
did not receive the card scores the penalty is over and the player may re-enter
the game. Time penalties do carry over at half time.
Game Play
Issues:
-
Players must give 15 feet on all
free kicks.
-
Balls that hit the side netting are played at
the spot it went out and within 3 feet of the wall.
-
Balls that hit the side netting between the
each end of the high wall are a Goal Kick or a Corner Kick.
-
Balls that hit the Top Netting are placed at
the Tri line nearest to the point of contact with the net.
-
The 3 Line Rule is in effect. If a ball is played from the defensive team’s tri line in the air and
passes across the opponent’s tri line, the ball will be brought back to the
offending team’s tri line and a kick will be given to the opposing team.

Five Second Rule. Once the referee blows
his whistle to restarts, player has five seconds to put the ball in play. Failure to do so will result in the loss of possession of the ball.

Goalkeepers may not get control of ball
outside their box and dribble back into it and pick the ball up with their
hands. Penalty for this is opposing team receives ball at
the closest tri-line.

Keepers are not allowed to handle the ball
from a direct pass by a teammate with their feet or by using any trickery of
the ball.

If a foul is called inside the defensive
penalty box but is not serious enough for a penalty kick, then the ball will
be placed on the nearest tri – line for an opposing teams kick.

NO SLIDE TACKLING!!!! At the Countryside YMCA slide tacking will include any slide (weather
intentional or unintentional) within playing distance of another player. This
rule does not apply to a goalkeeper who is within the penalty area
-
At no time is a player allowed to put two
hands on the wall when fighting for a ball or trying to shield an opponent. This will be considered obstruction and a free kick will be awarded to
the other team.

At no time is a player who has fallen to the
ground allowed to play the ball while still on the ground.
Goalies:
-
After a save, the keeper must release the
ball within 5 seconds.
-
After a save, the goalkeeper may throw, drop
kick, or punt the ball.
Substitutions:
Free substitution is allowed. Subs should wait until players are in the area of the bench before coming
on the field. Current player or sub should not play during
this change. A blue card will be issued to the team for any
violation of the substitution rule.
Ball Size:
U7 Size #3 Ball
U8 to U12 Size #4 Ball
U13 and Up Size #5 Ball
Season Length:
-
Each team will get at least 8
games per session unless otherwise noted
-
Game Duration: Each game
will last 45 minutes.
Two (2) twenty-two and a half
(
22:30
) minute halves
with a 2 minute half time. Games will start at exactly the
time written on schedule. If a team is not ready at the
stated start time the clock will begin to run.

The clock will not stop for any reason; games
must run on time.
The Kickoff:
The kickoff is a direct kick. The Visiting team Always gets the kick off to
start the game.
Off Side:
There is no off side rule in
indoor soccer.
Coed Rules:
-
The offensive team must have woman touch the
ball on the offensive half of the field before a goal can be scored.
-
A man cannot score a goal from a shot in
their defensive half.

All kicks in the offensive half of the field
must taken by a women. This includes penalty kicks and all
kicks from the offensive tri0line and corner kicks.
